A mystical odyssey, a haunting love...
This story is a cliffhanger like the others; regardless it is a very engrossing tale.

I am completely enthralled with her series, The After Trilogy. I was on pins and needles waiting for Far Shore, and I stopped everything (including the book I was reading at the time) to read this book.
Slatton did not disappoint my high expectations: I loved every single second of Far Shore. I did not want the book to end, and found myself trying to slow my reading pace, just to make the book last longer. .. I finished this book feeling educated, entertained, and satisfied. I still think about this series, weeks later, and often wonder what the characters are doing now. This series is outstanding and I can't wait to read more from Traci Slatton!

Far Shore is the third book in author Traci. L. Slatton's After series and just like the previous two books, it's a non-stop roller coaster ride of action, betrayal, lust, violence, horror and redemption.

Far Shore (and The After series) is a story that makes you wonder about the what ifs and whys of a world at war. If the ultimate weapon of mass destruction is let loose onto a world of innocent people, what will happen when said weapon evolves and comes looking for the creator? Do we really trust the people in charge of our daily lives and if not, what will happen when the people at the top, can no longer control the monster within?
Traci L Slatton has written another wonderful and amazing storyline that looks at the aftermath of an experiment gone horribly wrong. It is a story about love and loss; betrayal and pain; and a second chances to make everything right. And it is also about two people, who have found love amongst the chaos and destruction, only to lose each other at the hands of a man tortured by his own loss. Sometimes there is only one choice and that choice is to survive, no matter what someone else has in mind.

In Far Shore, we truly experience how the world is evolving. Not only are the Mists changing, but so are the people and their abilities. We were fascinated by the changes – not just in in the skills and abilities, but in the hearts of some of the characters. As much as Emma has struggled in the past two novels, it truly hits home in Far Shore. Her choices lead her to a climactic moment in her personal growth. We respect and were captivated by what happens after she rescues Arthur. Emma truly shines as she struggles to make the best of the only choice her heart could have made. We were humbled and terrified with her. The despair and desperation she experiences is palpable…
The world of The After series continues to fascinate and enthrall us. We liked it and eagerly await the next novel in this series. We must know what happens next!
Gikany and Una on That’s What I’m Talking About
Slatton writes in such an addictive way that I could swear there was some sort of addictive substance between the pages. I know when I pick up one of her books I am not going to want to put it down until I finish it, and Far Shore was no different.

Far Shore… is a well-crafted finale to a notable sci-fi story. Traci Slatton doesn’t reduce the story to a simple good guy-bad guy scenario and leaves the reader again with questions about evolving relationships, powers of the mind and spirit, and what it takes to live with each person’s virtues and vices and all the foibles in between. Science and humans are dynamic, emerging phenomena with whom the reader will engage in intelligent, engaging steps throughout this highly recommended novel!

Emma and Arthur are interwoven together in such a way that it transcends logic and obligations…
In Far Shore, the struggles are brutal, the emotions are high, and the dangers are constant…..
Once you begin reading Far Shore, you’ll be sucked in with no hope of getting out—nor will you want to. Page after page brings intrigue, suspense, and breathtaking thrills all wrapped up in a solid plot that will continue into another adventure with the next book in the series. Come on, what are you waiting for? Join the apocalypse!

The world has collapsed and the nightmare is never ending…. Do NOT expect to be comfortable with all of the decisions made or the actions taken, this world is still bleak, filled with deceit and treachery, but there is still hope, there is still love. In the end, it may have been one uncomfortable decision that ultimately may save the world and someone had to be strong enough to make it.…

This is such a great series. I fell in love with Emma and Arthur…Theirs is a powerful, soul shattering kind of love that only happens once in a lifetime. A love that can cause even the most pragmatic mind to act in a completely illogical fashion. Ms. Slatton left me heartbroken with the endings of both Fallen and Cold Light and the plight she left for these two…
As with both previous books, I was unable to put it down. I love when I can read a book in one sitting, even though it created a physical longing for the epic conclusion that is coming. And I have no doubt that it will be epic….A great story, with a great cast that is a definite must-read for Slatton fans, and those looking for an exceptional dystopian sci-fi series.

Slatton continues to give us a heart-rending love, one that can tear apart a family. Yet she somehow imbues the situation with all the right reasons, so where the outcome could be tragic, there is somehow a bit of magic. The empathy and pain leap off the pages as you suffer with the characters…The heat and passion that sizzles between Arthur and Emma does not abate even when they are at their wits' end.

An adventure of sorts, and mostly around Arthur and Alexei. There’s a bit of plot movement, character growth…and an intriguing setup for the next book. Far Shore reads quickly…

An endearing aspect to this series is the character diversity which comprises the group of fellow survivors who had banded together with Emma and Arthur from France all the way to Canada. the diversity is meant to illuminate and enforce the commonalities that all people share: love, hate, friendship, and the desire to survive….I was positive that I knew how this book was going to end. I was completely wrong. I love it when that happens!
Rebecca Skane on Seacoast Online
The camaraderie between the characters also balances out the darker themes of the book…The series is really about the human condition….
This series definitely keeps getting better and better! Mysteries about the Arthur and the origin of the mists continue to be revealed and the mists begin to evolve into something stronger and more organized….I can’t wait to see how things will unfold. I would absolutely recommend this series to any fan of dystopian books…

Oh my goodness. Traci Slatton does it again. I am completely in love with this series. She ups the stakes and the intensity is doubled in every aspect of the book. The mists are even scarier and horrifying than in the previous books.….

Far Shore was my most anticipated book release of the year and may I say that it was well worth the wait! I absolutely love this book (and the After series in general)….
I really love how Traci writes her characters. They are just so well developed and her writing impeccable. Arthur and Emma have come so far together and I can't wait to see what happens and how they will save the world.

There is much at stake with all the characters that comes into play with the telling.
The heat and passion that sizzles between Arthur and Emma does not abate even when they are at their wits’ end.

The third After the Day apocalyptic thriller is a terrific twisting tale as the lead quartet individually deals with their personal demons while time runs out for a seemingly dying world in its last throes. Fast-paced, readers will appreciate this super finish to a strong fantasy as hope fades with the final flickering of love or perhaps that tiny unsteady light reflects a new beginning.

Here’s the best news yet. IT’S NOT OVER! At the end of the FAR SHORE, I freaked out a little because I thought, “Oh no! That can’t be it, but it’s a trilogy so it must be!” I was more than a little upset so I went a little stalkerish on Ms. Slatton and searched her website and blog and finally just emailed her asking if there would be another book. Her answer was there would be a book four and maybe five! YAY!! I really want to hear about the group’s next journey and the plan to eradicate the mists forever.
THE AFTER SERIES has been an amazing rollercoaster ride for me and FAR SHORE was an excellent installment. Even if this is all I hear of Emma, Arthur and the rest of this world again, I will have been so glad I read this series; but I am ecstatic that there will be a fourth book. Traci L. Slatton has created a world that excites and makes you think deeply at every turn.

I loved the first two volumes and I was impatient to discover the third…It’s really sad to see all the things our heroine has to go through. She just wanted a normal life with her family, but nothing is ever simple. Love, revenge, and her thoughts are always on her way, whatever she does…This novel was really eventful.
